Polenta BLW – BLW Corn Grits

🇨🇱 Polenta BLW (6m)

🇺🇸BLW Corn grits (6 m.o)

Corn grits are easy to prepare and a great way to try corn without the asphyxia risk. You could make sticks, turn them into balls, or cut them into tiny pieces according to your baby’s developmental phase.

Polenta, or corn grits, is not a full-of-flavor meal. Usually, it’s served with tomato sauce, so another way to prepare it is by replacing water with tomato juice (no salt added) or blended tomatoes.

To prepare it, you need to remember this ratio: 1 part of corn grits and 3 parts of water. That’s all! So, if you use 1/3 cup of corn grits, you have to use 1 cup of water.

Turn on the stove to high temperature and add boiling water (or tomato juice, no salt added) to a pot or saucepan. Pour corn grits and stir with a spoon or fork. Keep going while you turn down the stove to medium heat. After a couple of minutes, when you see a mixture that looks like a light dough, pour it into a glass container and keep it refrigerated for a couple of hours. Allow it to cool down, and you’ll be able to cut it into sticks and pieces (see video here).

Easy peasy!
